Pendant Workshop
Come join me and make yourself a unique and beautiful hammered Neck Piece. We will use Sterling Silver, Base metals Brass and Copper to make loops and discs, which we will texture using hammers and other techniques. We will assemble your design your way on a Silver Chain or use Leather and Wax Thread to hang your creation.
This was made by a student using a splash of her own 18ct Gold, the piece is gathered together on a silver hoop and hung on waxed cord.
The workshop is limited to only a maximum of 5 and a minimum of 4 students, This allows for nearly one on one help and assistance and provides us all with a safe working environment. You will learn to use a LPG gas torch to Solder and Anneal (soften the metals) you will learn to Cut with a jewellers saw, File and texture with precision tools.
The Pendant workshop is run on either a Saturday or Sunday and runs for 4hrs, starting at
10.00am – 12.00pm Studio
(we break for lunch for an hour, you are welcome to bring lunch or eat from our close local eateries.)
1.00pm – 3.00pm Studio
The cost of this workshop is $250 and is inclusive of your materials and all tools are provided.
No experience is necessary for you to have fun. You can bring with you any designs that you like to make and also any found precious objects you’d like to include in your piece.
I welcome groups to book in their own workshop. (If you have a group contact me at least 1 month prior to guarantee your date choices)
The image above shows Student works at the end of the workshop, where time permits up to 2 or even 3 pieces can be made.
For your own safety participants need to wear comfortable clothing, jeans or pants and a high neck T-Shirt, closed in shoes and long hair must be tied back. (an apron is also good) If you need glasses to read please bring them, simple magnifiers/readers can be helpful too. Feel Free to bring lunch or we have local Eateries including a Vegan and Gluten Free café within easy walking distance.
